Just who does she think she is?

How many times have we said that in conversation? ” Just who does she think she is?” When we say it, I don’t think we realize what a lengthy reply “she” would give us ~ you know, if we were actually asking “her”.

I don’t think we ask ourselves, or think about who we really are until someone says the above mentioned words.

I have been many things over the years. Some of those titles are just descriptions and others define me completely. So I will try to tell you “just who she thinks she is”.

My name is Kristin. I am a 40 year old woman who thinks that life is wonderful nearly all the time! Honestly! It’s true…. even when things are bad, I will find a silver lining somewhere!  I love being a positive person. I love lifting people up and making people feel wonderful about themselves. I love being a friend to many! And I honestly LOVE my life!!

I am a Christian who loves the Lord and all things He has created.  God has given me a talent for crafting, and to Him I will be forever grateful. I always tell people that I am a Princess! My Father is the KING! I often find myself in complete awe of the things He has created for our enjoyment. Usually, as I sit and type on my computer, the view of Lake Huron takes my breath away! It is ever changing, but always beautiful… even when it is frozen over or a storm comes rolling across it. Beautiful! Simply Beautiful!!

I am a Wife and a Stay at home mom. Both of those titles I hold dear to my heart. I have an amazing husband that works very hard to bring home the bacon. He is my biggest supporter, and I love him to pieces! When deciding what I was going to do with my previous business (a direct sales company), he told me to follow my heart. Do what I wanted to do and he would support me all the way! I know that in itself is a huge blessing. Getting the support of a spouse or your children can be an uphill battle some days… even more so when you are looking at quitting one job to scrapbook your days away!

I have two wonderful boys who make my life totally complete. My oldest is 16 years old, and my youngest is nearly 7. Yes, I am claiming temporary insanity at that age difference, but God wants in our lives what He wants, and I am not one to question His decisions!  I am often left in complete wonder about how I managed to have such wonderful children based on how I was at their ages. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and we are often surrounded by many “moms and dads” to our children.  One of those “dads” actually includes my own dad, who lives with us and has for about 4 years now. I know many who have said they could NEVER live with a parent, but it has been amazing. To those who have uttered those words, I can only say, “Don’t knock it until you try it!” My dad is a great help around our house with not only our children, but also with home remodeling projects and more! The boys love having their grandpa around, and he truly does make this house more complete.

And while I like to think I am unique, I have someone in my life who is almost JUST like me! She is my twin sister, and just to save you the time of asking…. I don’t know… what is it like to NOT be a twin. Tehehe… sorry, had to do it! While I love my other sisters and brother like mad, and would do anything for any of them, I just have this close natural bond with my twin. She is one of the strongest people I know. I have a built in best friend for life. God is so good to me.

The last thing I will mention that I think defines me is that I am a creative soul. I think I always have been, and thankfully my mom and my sisters have encouraged that in me and I in them. I love coming from a creative family. We are a resourceful bunch that is for sure! I have always loved art, and was quite good at drawing in the past, but somewhere along the life’s line, I got away from that.  What I am drawn to now is scrapbooking, crafting, beading (a new interest) and altering things. I hate to throw something away that I can mod podge some paper onto and make it brand new. It really does put a new twist on Going Green. I call it re-purposing, but I have also heard the term up-cycling, which I love as well!

So, there you have it… my life in just a few paragraphs! And that my friends… is who she thinks she is!
