Yes, I really have purged my closets and drawers! LOL!

This is a fun project if you have some old t-shirts that have faded over the years, or just need some dressing up.

Gather some simple supplies:

t-shirts with no logos or writing on them

cardboard

a stencil if you want one

Clorox Bleach pen

Your washer and dryer!

Since Valentines is right around the corner, I chose to use a heart shaped doily as a template for my main design. Here is a warning for you… I used this red shirt which was new and unwashed… my tip is to use a shirt that has been well worn, as you will see with the green shirt I did at the same time.

Start by laying down your stencil, or draw free-hand if you wish. Take your bleach pen and start going around your stencil or just start drawing!

Once you get your design how you want it, it will look like this:

And once you let it set for a while, you will notice the colors starting to change, as it did, drastically so on the green t-shirt…

once you have the desired affect, rinse off your excess bleach under some running water.

Rinse the shirts

The last step is to run these shirts through your regular wash and dry cycle. I did a very simple design, but the possibilities are really quite endless. I do have to warn you all though… PEEE-YOU! The bleach smell can get pretty overwhelming so using a well ventilated area is a good idea!

AWESOME!!! I love these! This is a neat idea! How cool! I wish I had an old worn plain T-shirt! :) My shirts all have stuff on them!
