Hello Friends! I am so excited to share a new friend with you all today! I cannot even recall how I came across Kristi’s shop- PunkinSeedProductions on Etsy.com, but her work was so adorable, I had to ask her to join us for a Feature here! What turned into a run of the mill interview has become a bit more than that. I have very much enjoyed getting to know Kristi a bit better over the last few months, and hope to continue this friendship for many years to come!
Kristi truly is one of those rare gems you come across… be sure to show her some love today!
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your Etsy shop Kristi.
My name is Kristi and I own Punkin Seed Productions where I offer unique handcrafted gifts. I specialize in word blocks and hand painted items. I love to take something old and turn it into a work of art! I’m really a very schizophrenic artist! I love it all and can’t just focus on one medium! I named my business in memory of my dad you used to call me “Punkin Seed”. I currently stay home with my three children and homeschool. This business has allowed me to help support our family while I homeschool them.
When did you first open your Etsy shop? What made you start selling on Etsy?
I first opened my Etsy Store a little over a year ago at the encouragement of my sisters. You see, I hadn’t been doing any art for about 5 years because my youngest child is medically fragile and my time was spent caring for her. But she began getting healthier and my sisters asked me to do a craft bizarre with them. Well, the bizarre happened during an ice storm and was a bust! However, when I was crafting something came alive in me that I had forgotten about! I know that may sound crazy but I truly believe God gives all of us creativity. When we find what that is……something just happens…..something awakened in me! So, I opened up the Etsy store and the rest is history!
Where else do you sell your creations?
I also sell my products in two local shops and I have an Artfire shop. In addition, I have a blog where I tell about my most recent creations, crafting and activities with the kids, give personal testimonies, tutorials, occasional give-aways and host a weekly blog party: www.punkinseedproductions.blogspot.com
Do you have any personal favorite pieces?
I do have some personal favorites. One I have had for sale but I just absolutely love it…………………its an old kitchen scale. I’ll attach a picture.
What should people know about you and your art work when they purchase from you?
I want people to know that I truly think about them when I’m creating their piece! I want every piece to be enjoyed. I love being challenged to try new things and I love matching peoples decor. I actually think about my customers opening up their package and being excited! I like to slip an little something extra in the package as a thank you too.
Do have any advice for novice artists out there who just haven’t stepped out to share their creations with the World?
My advice for novices is to just jump in and create! Don’t try to copy someone else – be unique and create what you love. That is when your talent will shine through …………when you truly love what you are doing!
Where else can we find you on the World Wide Web?
See No, 3 above.
Thank you so much Kristin for letting me come visit your blog and your friends! So glad you came into my life…..prayers and blessing and hugs sent your way!
Kristi (aka the other Kristin)

So now… you know you want to… go over and check out PunkinSeedProduction’s Etsy shop, and get yourself a little something while you are over there!
